Shopping Our Stash #460 - Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are building SNOWMEN.  The dies I used for this project are ancient.  I think the snowman shape (from Papertrey Ink) is probably 25 years old!  I used the die to partially die cut half the snowman from the front of the card base.  The die cut hat, face elements and buttons were added from Paper Smooches Snowman dies.  The stamped sentiment is from My Favorite Things Merry Everything.  To finish the card I lined the inside of the card base with Christmas paper.

Happy Holidays!

Shopping Our Stash #459 - Triple Threat & CAS on Friday Challenge #219 - Winter

At Shopping Our Stash this week, the prompt is TRIPLE THREAT.  The challenge requires three of anything on our card.  My CAS card features 3 bunnies. At CAS on Sunday, the keyword is WINTER.  My bunnies are building a snowman of their own kind.  I used Mama Elephant's Sending in Holiday Cheer. Sentiment and images are stamped and Copic colored.  Crystal Stickles were added for snow.

Happy Holidays.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #456 - Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

This week at Shopping our Stash, the focus is on pumpkin spice and everything nice.  I used a very old riddle from Funny Bones.  If you pull the tab (My Favorite Things), the answer is revealed!  I so love pumpkin spice lattes every fall!  The coffee cup is from My Favorite Things. The small pumpkins are from Memory Box; die cut from scrap cardstock that was sprayed with oranges, gold and red. The background patterned paper is from Graphic 45.

Enjoy!

Shopping Our Stash #455 - Musical Notes

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are working with MUSICAL NOTES.  I made a simple die cut Christmas card featuring one of my favorite carols: We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  The card base is covered in a tartan from Graphic 45. The musical wreath is from Sounds of Music (a present from a challenge win).  The song title is from Memory Box, and die cut from gold Stardream.  Small crystal stars from Tim Holtz and a gold May Arts bow were the last additions.

Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #454 - Back to the Books & Retro Rubber #167 | Let's Get Sketchy!

I have combined this week's Shopping Our Stash challenge focused on BOOKS with Retro Rubber's SKETCH challenge.  Retro Rubber's sketch features a scalloped left hand edge (die cut on my card with My Favorite Things Scalloped Stitched Borders), a central panel (on my card the panel is a removable bookmark) and a central circular focal point.  My central image is My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Bookworm (year unknown).  She has been stamped, Copic-colored, fussy cut and mounted on a green background circle.  A small stamped sentiment from Mama Elephant Good Reads (2018) is foam mounted on the image.  Foam tape was added to the bottom and sides of the mounted image to create a channel for the bookmark.  The image was adhered to the card base layered with scalloped Memory Box paper.  The bookmark was die cut using the 2" My Favorite Things Vertical Stitched Stripe.  The stamped bookmark sentiment is Taylored Expressions Mark Your Spot (2016).  A small piece of May Arts ribbon was tied to the top of the bookmark.

Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #453 - SUMMER LOVIN'

Shopping Our Stash is having a last summer fling inviting us to create our last SUMMER cards.  On a bright sunshiny, yellow gingham cardbase, I added waves (insert pieces from Avery Elle's Sea Scene frame die), a polka dotted bikini from Simon Says Stamps, and a favorite Honey Bee Sea Breeze sentiment.  I love living in paradise!

Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #452 - Wood You Believe?

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are creating cards with a WOOD theme.  I have had Lawn Fawn's Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop coverplate in my stash for awhile.  The forest background is perfect for the wood theme.  I die cut the trees from a kraft A2 panel and lightly distressed with Old Paper.  The card base was distressed with Tumbled Glass using a cloud stencil.  Prior to adhering the forest to the card base, I added brown cardstock to the back of the tree openings.  Within each opening are Copic-colored, fussy cut squirrels from My Favorite Things Fall Friends. The critters on the front of the card are from My Favorite Things Harvest Mouse.  All images are Copic-colored.  The white embossed sentiment is from the Fall Friends set.

After having a chance to play with the coverplate, I find it is quite "busy". In the future I may try to trim out two of the trees, and "open" up the space.

Enjoy!

Shopping Our Stash # 451 - Let's Get Sketchy!

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are working with SKETCHES.  But not inspirational sketches, prescriptive sketches.  This is not my cup of tea but I tried.  I realize this means disqualification but I don't make 6"x4" cards.  Lately I have attempted a few mini slimline cards but my preference is A2.  I have a print shop precut every ream of Neenah that arrives at my house. So I modified the sketch to fit.

I made a new home card with sketch #3.  I covered the card base with an atlas page of the area where my friends are moving.  Die cut an 1/8" strip for the right hand border. Stamped and Copic-colored an image from Inky Antics (Packed Box) and a sentiment from Rubber Moon on scrap cardstock.  The scrap was trimmed to as close to 2x2" as possible, and backed with a piece of colored cardstock.

Thanks.

Shopping Our Stash #450 - Quit Bugging Me

This week at Shopping Our Stash, our cards are all about BUGS.  My card features the ants from Mama Elephant's Small Talk set.  I have used the the small sayings in the set numerous times but never the small insects.  First, I die cut a panel slightly smaller than A2, then die cut the sentiment, My Favorite Things You Take the Cake.  I stamped the panel with small ants, and a small Happy Birthday from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday.  I covered the back of the panel with Scortape and adhered to an A2 card base.  I distressed scrap cardstock with Scattered Straw, Lucky Clover, and Mermaid Lagoon, and die cut the sentiment again; inlaying the distressed letters into the card base.  I stamped, Copic-colored and fussy cut a small cake from Reverse Confetti's Later Alligator to finish the card.

Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #449 & The Male Room #152 - Christmas in July (2)

Both Shopping Our Stash and The Male Room are challenging us with CHRISTMAS IN JULY this month.  I made two Christmas cards with "old" sets that could be sent to a male. The card featured in this post is a layered die cut.  Like my last post, this Tim Holtz Sizzix set has been in my stash because I was not ready to spend the time needed to die cut and Copic-color all the small pieces.  But I am so glad I had the drive to put this scene together for these two challenges.

The background panel was embossed with Alexandra Renke's Snowfall folder. A vellum snowdrift was added to the bottom of the panel to anchor the images.  The sentiment is white embossed from Mama Elephant Mini Merry Messages. A small drop of gold Stickles to light the lantern finished the card.

I love how this card turned out as well.  Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #449 & The Male Room #152 - Christmas in July (1)

Both Shopping Our Stash and The Male Room are challenging us with CHRISTMAS IN JULY this month.  I made two Christmas cards with "old" sets that could be sent to a male. The card featured in this post is a one-layer wonder.  All of the images are from Hero Arts Home Christmas Scene. I have had this set in my stash for years, but never pulled it out because it seemed like so much work. I had intended to focus the card on the Christmas tree but to my dismay, I learned that the stamp was flawed, and the middle of the tree would not stamp.  So I put the tree off to the side using the area that would stamp.  Slowly I stamped and added in the fireplace, cat, mice, presents, candle, and wreath to the kraft card base.  Using a permanent marker, I drew in a ground line and wall markers.  All of the images and the background are Copic-colored.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

I love how the card turned out.  Enjoy.

Shopping Our Stash #448 - Tropical Delights

This week at week at Shopping our Stash, the theme is TROPICAL DELIGHTS.  I pulled out a couple of oldie but goodie dies from Memory Box (2012): Tropical Leaf, Swaying Palm, and Hibiscus Flowers.  Images are simply die cut and mounted on a kraft card base. A bit of yellow Stickles accents the centers. The stamped sentiment is from Honey Bee Sea Breeze (and an absolute favorite of mine!).  I live in South Florida and have hibiscus blooming in my yard all year long.  Florida is paradise.

Enjoy.
