Color Throwdown Countdown #728 and Freshly Made Sketches #571

This week, I am combining Color Throwdown with Freshly Made Sketches.  The colors we are working with are RED, PINK, GREEN and BROWN.  The sketch features a vertical band on a horizontal A2 card.  I am in the throes of making three dozen birthday cards for donation and so appreciate inspiration that brings a good card together!  Sweet birthday wishes are perfect for the upcoming strawberry season.

Color Throwdown Countdown #726

Glad to be back at Color Throwdown, hopefully with better color mojo this year.  This week, we are working with the colors, NAVY, GRAY and WHITE.  I was so inspired by Susie's card that I decided to case it.  I focused on the navy flowers on grey.  I decided to heat emboss my florals on Stardream cardstock for lots of shimmer, and added a white die cut sentiment

Color Throwdown #718, The Four Seasons November Anything Goes, and Double D Thankful~Blessings~Grateful Challenge

This week at Color Throwdown, we are working with the colors cranberry, gray, yellow gold and rust. I used a favorite set from Concord & 9th to create a fall thank you for a crafty friend who sent me a fabulous advent calendar from Spellbinders.  I can't wait to open a box on the 1st!

I  made a sweet hello card with a hibiscus wreath.  Here in Florida, hibiscus grows like a weed.  I have a row of hibiscus trees in the front of my home and they are always in bloom and beautiful!

Color Throwdown Countdown #694

This week at Color Throwdown, we are working with the colors BLUE, YELLOW, RED and BLACK.  I created a space card using the "Northern Lights" technique of distressing.  I randomly distressed an entire A2 panel in Faded Jeans, Barn Door and Squeezed Lemonade, then added a second layer of Black Soot over the bright colors.  I spotted the panel with droplets of water and splattered white paint for stars.  From there, I turned the panel into a slider card for my blue, yellow and red spaceship.

This week at Freshly Made Sketches we are working with a sketch featuring a central image on the right side of the card with a horizontal stripe and flag running across the card.  I am combining this sketch with this week's colors at Color Throwdown, PURPLE, PINK and GOLD.  This week Joanne James  introduced me to an idea I had never thought of... die cutting DSP to get beautiful flowers.  I went to Michaels hoping to find the a beautiful floral watercolor, instead I found watercolor ephemera.  Easy and beautiful.  I think these die cuts will be a new staple in my craft room.
