Color Throwdown Countdown #726

Glad to be back at Color Throwdown, hopefully with better color mojo this year.  This week, we are working with the colors, NAVY, GRAY and WHITE.  I was so inspired by Susie's card that I decided to case it.  I focused on the navy flowers on grey.  I decided to heat emboss my florals on Stardream cardstock for lots of shimmer, and added a white die cut sentiment

Seize the Birthday #252 CASE a DesignTeam Member

This week at Seize the Birthday, we are casing one of the design team's members.  Love the idea. I decided to CASE my cardmaking buddy, Vicki.  I love her bright, happy birthday card. Using Ardyth's LIMES technique, this is the card I planned.

LIST: colors are yellow and orange on a white card base. Technique is stenciling. Elements include a white border; multiple, random balloons; and a central, layered and stamped sentiment. Occassion is birthday. Layout is a vertical, slimline base.

INCLUDING: Yellow and orange on a white card base. Happy birthday sentiment. Lots of balloons. Stenciling.

MODIFYING: Adding in red. Red scalloped rather than white straight border. Adding die cut sentiment. More balloons. Size is an A2 card.

EXCLUDING: Stamping.

SPIN: Had to add a couple of gems.

The Card Concept #184 {Merry Christmas}

This week at The Card Concept, we diving into Christmas with a beautiful photo inspiration. I focused on the candle and the highlighted colors: green, white, silver and gold.  I made a clean, layered card. The sentiment, Gloria in Excelsis Deo, was embossed in silver twice as a subtle background. The black frame was embossed with a blanket stitch.  The glitter papers and matte gold cardstock gave further elegance to the card.

This week's color combination at Color Throwdown is interesting for the holidays.  The colors are kraft, copper, sage green and black.  I liked the end result of this pieced Christmas card.

Two Old Bats Halloween November Challenge

Christmas Card Throwdown November Color Challenge

It is color week at Christmas Card Throwdown, and we are working with RED, WHITE and BLUE! I attempted a patriotic Christmas card but wasn't truly happy with it. So I opted for a red, white and blue alcohol ink background embossed with snowflakes.  The snowflake is multidimensional from Birch Press.

TIME OUT Challenge 225 - Thankful and Retro Rubber Challenge 194 - It's The 90's!

This week I am combining the 90s colors from Retro Rubber (gold, red, orange and yellow) with the theme from TIME OUT... Thankful.  I made a watercolor Thanksgiving card given Retro Rubber's colors are very fall-like.  This card was easily reproducible; I made a dozen in an hour to use as this year's Thanksgiving cards for family and friends.
