Jingle Belles Funny Ho! Ho!

This time at Jingle Belles, we are creating funny cards. I don't really have any funny Christmas stamps in my stash so I went for cute enough to put a smile on your face. I made this card as a thank you to a dear friend who is crazy about flamingos! I consider this card clean and layers...a great way to use up the bits and pieces that I refuse to throw out!

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles My Sweet Embossable You

This week at Jingle Belles, we are embossing.  I am following Stephanie's lead in a couple of ways.  First, I chose to use the second pattern in Tim Holtz' Holiday Knits set.  Where Stephanie heat embossed white on red cardstock, I tried the opposite. I heat embossed red pigment ink with clear embossing powder on white cardstock.  A slightly different effect.  Further embellishment added!

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Walking in a VINTAGE Wonderland

This week at Jingle Belles, we are focusing on VINTAGE.  I have to be honest, I really have nothing in my stash that shouts vintage.  Instead, I combined patterned paper featuring an "old" poinsettia design with and "old" Christmas song.  The card is simple but I think sweet.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Skinny Santa Slimline

This month at Jingle Belles, we are making slimline cards.  I love this gentleman from an old Tim Holtz' set.  I was so disappointed when I stamped the sentiment askew...and I used a stamp positioner!  There should be a rule that sentiments go on first given how much work goes into creating backgrounds.

To make a cleaner slimline, I actually hinged the back of the card.

Jingle Belles Getting Fit for 2022

This week at Jingle Belles, we are creating cards highlighting Christmas sweets.  I choose to use a Stampingbella image that I was unable to use during the 2021 Christmas season featuring hot chocolate.  I love hot chocolate and the diet I am on precludes the sweet treat... maybe next year.  My Copic colored image is mounted on various cardstock and embellished.

Enjoy!

Peace On Earth Challenge #7 & Jingle Belles What Did Santa Bring You?

I combined this week's photo inspiration from Peace on Earth with the keyword NEW (what goodies did Santa bring?) from Jingle Belles to create my card.  My strength is not in making interactive cards but I would like to improve.  Keeping with my wishes, Santa brought me My Favorite Things Mini Slimline Out of the Box dies.  Thus my pop-up card.  I am still a bit amazed how nicely it folds down and fits into an envelope.  The subject (even the colors) came directly from the Peace on Earth moodboard.  I used My Favorite Things Happy Llamadays.  All the llamas are stamped, Copic colored and fussy cut; the sentiment is white embossed.  Also new are the streamer ribbons, Copic colored, from Simon Says Stamp.  I also used Taylored Expressions Rolling Hills to create the snow drifts, and Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners to cut the sentiment.

Enjoy!

Jingle Belles - A Blog Header Holiday

This week at Jingle Belles, we are being inspired by their blog header.  I wanted to pull the dark evergreens, blue green sky and bits of snow into my card.  I distressed an A2 panel in Chipped Sapphire, Pine Needles and Twisted Citron. Atop the distressed panel, Memory Box' Cabin Pine Tree is stamped in Versafine Black Onyx.  Copic Opaque White paint is splattered for snow. The Hero Arts sentiment is gold embossed.

Happy Holidays!

Jingle Belles - I'm dreaming of a PINK Christmas

Again this year, Stef and Lauren, Jingle Belles, are challenging us to make pink holiday cards in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AND plan to donor $4 for every challenge card entered to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  As a woman in treatment for breast cancer... all I can say is THANK YOU!

In making my PINK Christmas card, I used an old technique to feature poinsettias from Simon Says Stamp Winter Flowers.  I gold embossed the poinsettias on vellum, die cut, and colored the back of each flower in pink.  Using a scalloped frame from Mama Elephant, I die cut a pale pink layer for my card base.  The vellum flowers were adhered using a Xyron machine.  The primary sentiment, peace, is from Papertrey Ink's Wonderful Holiday Words, die cut and layered from gold Stardream cardstock.  The sub-sentiment was masked and stamped from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Holiday Words.  The final touch was gold "dots", source unknown.

Enjoy!

Jingle Belles Dashing through the SNOW

This week at Jingle Belles, we are creating cards featuring SNOW.  I wanted to play with the above old Dylan Thomas sentiment from Penny Black, and made two cards with it (also ABC Christmas).  For this card, I decided to stamp the sentiment on acetate and emboss in white.   The acetate is trimmed to an A2 card size (5.5" x 8.5") and scored. On a gray A2 card base, Savvy Stamps Snowfall is stamped in Versamark randomly and silver embossed (below).   The acetate cover is attached with scortape.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Tree Skirt Tic-Tac-Toe

This week at Jingle Belles, we are working with a Tic Tac Toe grid.  I played the middle column: BLING, DIE CUTS, TREES, as well as the bottom row: GLITTER, TREES, GOLD.  I really like how this card turned out.  I started with Memory Box's Snowy Tree, die cut from white wood grain cardstock and backed with vellum.  On each "bough", I added Stickles crystal glitter.  The card base is Dark Gold Stardream cardstock, embossed with Alexandra Renke's Snowfall embossing folder.  The "ground" is glossy white cardstock simply die cut with some "hills". The tree was foam mounted.  A Tim Holtz crystal star was added, as well as a few accent pearls.  The white embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Cookies for Santa

Let me just say the Missy's Tropical Christmas Snowglobe cookies are already on the list for neighbor gifts this Christmas!  Jingle Belles made the introduction with their theme this month: Cookies for Santa.  I was definitely inspired by the snowglobe (it has been so long since I made a snowglobe shaker).  I used a new little set from Avery Elle call Christmas Dreams.  The snowglobe die is from Memory Box, and the bits and pieces from Pretty Pink Posh.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Cardstock Christmas

This week at Jingle Belles, we are creating Christmas cards with CARDSTOCK ONLY, or in other words, no patterned papers.  Since I rarely use patterned papers, it is more of an anything goes week!  First, I die cut an A2 panel (backed with Scortape) using Neat & Tangled's FaLaLa Coverplate, then adhered the panel to the card base.  Next I stamped several critters and things from Avery Elle's Caroling Critters.  The images are Copic-colored, fussy cut and foam-mounted. Stickles and snowflake sequins were the final touches.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles Red & Green All Over

This week at Jingle Belles, we are creating Christmas card primarily in RED and GREEN.  This challenge was harder than expected!  Whenever I wanted to add another color, I just asked myself could red or green work instead. The elves are set in Mama Elephant's Ornate House Grid which has been layered, lined with crystal Stickles and topped with a small red bow.  The Copic-colored elves are from Mama Elephant's Little Elf Agenda (buttons are accented with gold Smooches). The stamped sentiment is from My Favorite Things Jingle All the Way.

Enjoy.

Jingle Belles: A Storied Holiday

This week at Jingle Belles, we are recounting memories of our favorite Christmas stories.  I am remembering Frosty the Snowman in my card.  However, if the truth be told, I really wanted to try out this new stamp from Colorado Craft Company, Snow Good Sledding.  I tried the stamp two ways... full blown watercolor, and the card above with light Copic-coloring.  I like the really "white" card.  Only a few colors were needed (could be mass produced) and a bit of crystal Stickles for the snow.

Enjoy.

PS. I used Inkessentials black enamel on the snowman's eyes.
