TIME OUT Challenge 255 - Inspired by Words

Time Out is challenging us to use the quote: "Winter solitude - in a world of one color, the sound of wind."  From the quote, I focused on a solitary snowman, leaned toward one color -- white, and added windy snowdrifts. My card has an inside shaker.  I created a small acetate packet of glitter which I adhered inside the card with scortape.  I should mention that the sentiment is stamped within the card as well, and nicely visible from the heart cutout. 

I will also submit this card over at CAS on Friday who is also looking for winter cards.

TIME OUT #249 — Challenge You to be Vintage

This week, Time Out is challenging us to be VINTAGE.  Vintage is not my strong suite but that is the beauty of challenges... you need to try to move outside your comfort zone. I relied on Memory and Tim Holtz to create this card.  I used layered papers, stenciled poinsettia with gold embossing paste, ephemera, gems and a layered sentiment.  The beauty of vintage is that you can have fun!

My interpretation of the words is literal.  I chose an image featuring old, live oaks; trees which I love.  We have many live oaks dripping with moss here in South Florida, and they are beautiful.  I made a "wish you were here" card for my donation stash for Friends After Diagnosis, an organization who supports cancer patients and their caretakers. The card is a tri-fold featuring trees in a park, a cityscape and the starry night sky.

TIME OUT #245 — We Challenge You To Be

This week, Time Out is challenging us to be COLORFUL.  I used Lawn Fawn's Sweet Smiles.  I love this sweet gumball machine and it offers a great way to add color!  I stamped and Copic colored the image, then fussy cut the inside of the gumball machine to create a shaker.  The mini balls are from Dress My Craft...and I couldn't resist them for this project.  This card is for the stash I am making for Little Birthday Angels, a local organization who holds a birthday celebration for every homeless child living locally.

I got together with several girlfriends, the other night, for cocktails...summer cocktails.  (I live in South Florida.) I thought the occasion would be fun for a card!  The background is watercolored and spritzed with white and gold paint. I used ephemera from Alexandra Renke.
