TIME OUT #249 — Challenge You to be Vintage

This week,
Time Out is challenging us to be VINTAGE.  Vintage is not my strong suite but that is the beauty of challenges... you need to try to move outside your comfort zone. I relied on Memory and Tim Holtz to create this card.  I used layered papers, stenciled poinsettia with gold embossing paste, ephemera, gems and a layered sentiment.  The beauty of vintage is that you can have fun!

We are happy to be sponsored by  Doodlebugs this challenge! In addition to the sponsor prize, the winner will also guest design in a future challenge.

Be sure to check out this week's Guest Designer, as well as the wonderful inspiration provided by the design team! Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

Enjoy!  I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Love your card Elizabeth! You may say it is not your comfort zone, but the way you added the patterns and the embossing paste, the subtle lace border and the vellum, so many details to admire - I feel so inspired. Also the font of bold red sentiment - looks so Vintag-y. I wish I could do something like this.

I love this, Elizabeth! Especially the gold poinsettias -so so fun. Makes me want to buy some gold paste -I only have clear and white and have thought that's all one needs... But now this makes me really want some gold lol!! Beautiful card. xxx

This is just fab Elizabeth! I've been mulling this challenge over all week as vintage is so not me either, but you definitely rose to the challenge - the layering and overstamping gives a vintage yet modern feel. Bravo!

Vintage may be out of your comfort zone but mixed media is out of mine and you have combined both in a fantastic way, Elizabeth. This truly looks like a vintage Christmas card.
