Join us! It is ANYTHING GOES STENCIL week at Just Us Girls. Lisa is challenging us to use a stencil in our card creations this week.
I used an old Taylored Expression set (stencil, embossing folder and die) to create this card. I made six versions to try out different color combinations, and for donation. I liked the purple flowers on kraft cardstock the best. I am not sure my method was the ideal order to complete the card. I embossed an A2 panel, stenciled, die cut the center, then re-embossed. I need to investigate how manufacturers are tackling these sets. In the past, I only used the stencils and center die cut to complete cards. My question is "is it best to emboss before or after stenciling?" Love to know everyone's thoughts on this issue.
This set is super easy to use. Four stencils, one stencil for each color. Unlike some other stencils, this design is easy to line up correctly in an embossing folder, and the extra dimension is fun. Each stencil does have "dots" on it. Rather than masking I just stenciled and then covered the dots with silver mirracard stars (die included in the set). In the die cut opening, I clear embossed a bold sentiment. The final touch was adding crystal Stickles to each flower center. These cards will be donated to the First Presbyterian Women, an organization supporting and sharing with the congregation, friends, and guests; building faith, changing lives, and sharing christ.

I love the effect you created here, but having never done this myself, I can't offer any help...just that I think it looks awesome!
Your flowers are so pretty stenciled on kraft; definitely an eye-catching card. I'm not skilled when it comes to embossing, so I can't offer any advice. I think what you've done works wonderfully.

Fabulous end result! I love that bold sentiment too. Can’t throw in my opinion as I don’t have any of the embossing/stencils combos
I think your steps were just perfect, Elizabeth! How have I never seen this set before?? SO pretty on kraft!

That is a fabulous stencil, embossing folder and die combo! I love the purple flowers with their sparkly centers against the kraft. Gorgeous!
Fabulous combo set here Elizabeth. Love the layout and gorgeous purple with the sparkly bling. Nice outcome using kraft paper.
Beautiful card! The stenciled flowers are so pretty. Thanks so much for having me as a guest this month!
I love the deep purple of your flowers, Elizabeth, and the Stickles give the center a beautiful shine. I usually emboss and then stencil.
