The Paper Players PP727 - A Theme Challenge from Claire

Join us! It is THEME week at The Paper Players.  Claire is challenging you to use the theme SPRING FLOWERS (tulips, daffodils, cherry blossoms, wisteria, etc.) in your card creations.  Of course, neutrals are allowed; white, black, gray and kraft.

I have to admit I LOVE cherry blossoms, and every spring would look forward to the two to three weeks they were blooming.  For a number of years I commuted to Washington and truly loved seeing the national mall abloom in these beautiful buds.  The National Cherry Blossom Festival is celebrated every spring in Washington, commemorating the March 27, 1912, gift of 3,000+ Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City to the city of Washington.

I used a washi/die set from Pinkfresh called Sakura (cherry blossom in Japanese).  I mounted a few die cuts atop an embossed Stardream panel.  The sentiment is layered and vellum backed.  The final touch was a few glitter dots.  I made six duplicates for donation.

Check out our design team.  These ladies work hard to inspire you each week.  Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

Here's a quick recap of our challenge rules:

1.  Create a new paper project
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us and provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge submission.
3.  Please link your card to no more than four challenges in total.

Enjoy!  I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Elizabeth

Eliazbeth, I LOVE every detail on this beautiful card. Cherry blossoms are favorites of mine, too. So creative to use the washi tape! The pink card stock and stitched plaid cover is perfect to showcase your blossoms. The big sentiment in white just pops! You certainly made my challenge shine!

These are just beautiful! Even if we can't get to Washington, DC, we can enjoy YOUR cherry blossoms!

Cherry blossom is so gorgeous. I like the subtle texture you've added behind your pretty blooms. As always, your bold sentiment looks great and the vellum backing is a great detail.

Beautiful, Elizabeth! I love cherry blossoms, and I just might have one or two tattooed on my arms (wink). I love the pink backdrop. It is such a lovely pink color. The subtle plaid cover plate adds the perfect texture. Who wouldn't love to receive this card! Have a wonderful week!

Elizabeth those cherry blossoms are so beautiful in soft pink and will have to fill the gap until I get to DC to see the real thing one day! Another fabulous washi tape for sure.

Nothing says Spring like cherry blossoms and your washi branches are just gorgeous, Elizabeth! You are so fortunate to have been to Washington DC and seen the cherry blossoms there. When I lived in Portland OR we would go up to the Japanese gardens when possible to see them. They are something special.
