Just Us Girls #787 -- DIE Week

Join us! It is DIE week at Just Us Girls.  I am your host this week and am challenging you to make a FLORAL card using dies.   I used Concord & 9th's Enchanted Garden.  I made six of these inlaid cards so you know I have a system.  Die cutting the elements would be too paper intensive, given the small pieces, so I Copic-colored the elements.  First, I ran the die through my Big Shot with wax paper to ensure the pieces would not stick to the die.  Then I ran the die through with heavy white cardstock backed with a doubled dryer sheet. This run ensured all the pieces would remain in its outline attached to the dryer sheet.  A second, green A2 panel was run through to get the background outline, the small pieces were discarded.  The background outline was backed with 4.25" scoretape and adhered to the card base.

Then I colored! all the pieces in the white panels I had prepared.  Once colored, I inlaid the individual pieces into the green outline.  The final touch was a layered sentiment topped in gold mirricard.  This card was relatively easy for inlay.

All the die-cutting and colouring are well worth the time invested; your inlaid floral card is gorgeous. So impressed that you made 6 of these; big smiles guaranteed when these arrive in the lucky recipients' mailboxes.

Oh my goodness--this is so striking and beautiful! I recently tried the dryer sheet technique again, but didn't work. Your coloring is wonderful. System or not, I can't imagine making 5 of these--lucky! recipients! I was truly surprised and thrilled you picked my card as the winner. Thank you so much, Elizabeth.
