The Paper Players PP736 - A Theme Challenge from Joanne

Join us! It is THEME week at The Paper Players.  Joanne is challenging you to use the theme SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW (pair something you've had for ages with your newest craft purchase) in your card creations.  Love this challenge! My something new is a Christmas present of The Greetery's layered cupcake dies, my something old is an Essentials by Ellen sentiment die (one of their first die cut sentiments issued in 2015).

For this card, I tried to recreate a box of cupcakes.  I created the yummy layered cupcakes then topped with a shaker frame (die cut scalloped box, lined with acetate, and foam mounted over the cupcakes). Atop the shaker frame, I added the layered sentiment.  The A2 card would definitely require an A6 envelope given the depth of the card, and most likely extra postage.  Loved making these cupcakes...such a great way to use up scrap cardstock.

This card was relatively easy to create so I made six additional cards for donation to Little Birthday Angels, a local agency who ensures every child, who might not otherwise, has a birthday celebration.

Check out our design team.  These ladies work hard to inspire you each week.  Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

Here's a quick recap of our challenge rules:

1.  Create a new paper project
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us and provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge submission.
3.  Please link your card to no more than four challenges in total.

Enjoy!  I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth, this is fantastic! Those cupcakes look delicious! I love all the fun icing and items to decorate them. Adding the acetate to make them appear in a box is genius! Great job, My Friend!

You were very successful in creating a box of cupcakes because, until I read otherwise, that's what I thought I was looking at! Beautifully done!

Elizabeth, I just love this. The yummy goodies are fabulous and the touch of gold from the sentiment reminds me of a gold ribbon. Fabulous
