The ingenious Ina is hosting WILD CARD week at Just Us Girls. Ina would like us to "case a designer". This means chose a card of someone whose work you love, identify key elements, and from these key elements create your own unique take on the card.
I am casing my teammate, Cécile Ribon, whose work and style I have always adored. Looking across her body of work on Pinterest, I identified the following elements that I wanted to recreate:
- Use of a double layer in dark colors, often brown. The second layer mounted with foam tape for dimension.
- Embossed sentiments. I recently just purchased the embossing sentiment dies used because of a card Cécile created.
- Use of Simply Graphic florals.
- Use of twine and or metallic thread. I used both in this card.
- Use of beads. I didn't have any beads large enough to use with twine but found these small stones which I think work quite well.
Fran Wing is our guest designer and one of my favorite cardmakers! Please welcome her and check out her fabulous work! This is her last week with us... and we will miss her fabulous creations.
Please check out the design team. These ladies work hard to inspire you each week. Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.
Enjoy! I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the galley.

I've always admired Cecile's style and you have it down pat with this fabulous card, Elizabeth.
You have captured Cécile's style well! Nice card, especially for the upcoming fall!
Funny how a few of us 'case-d' Cecile. Her work is so inspirational in her CAS style. Love your take on her work especially in such lovely colours.
