At Just Us Girls this week, I am hosting TREND week... and the trend is MINI SLIMLINE CARDS!
***A mini slim line card is generally 3.25" x 6.25" (sizes seem to range from 3" x 6" upwards). Cut cardstock 6.5" x 6.25" and score at 3.25" on the longest side. Lots of stamping companies are now making envelopes to fit mini slim line cards. ***
I have to be honest. This is only my second slimline card. I have not wholeheartedly embraced the trend. When I receive a ream of Neenah 120#, a local print shop cuts and scores the sheets for me. I order A2 envelopes in bulk because I make so many cards for charity. Also to begin collecting "slimline" stamp sets or dies would be a bit cost prohibitive for me. That said, I still want to dip my toe into the current trend! Onward...
I decided a scrap card was in order given the unusual size. I pulled various bits of Christmas paper out and together to assemble this card. The NOEL letters are from Concord & 9th's Joyful Noel set, the holly ornament is from Memory Box (Cabrini Ornament), and the snowflake is from Poppystamps (Giovanna Snowflake). The finishing touches include pearls and sequins.
I did use my Memory R Us envelope punch board to make an envelope for this card... it was very easy!
Remember we are welcoming Rachel Davis as a Guest Designer for the month of November!
Be sure to stop by each of the DT member blogs, check out their cards, and leave them a bit of love.
I can't wait to see your slimline creations in the gallery! Have fun crafting.

Totally love this challenge as I adore making minis! This is an awesome “only 2nd” attempt! Good for you making your own envelope also well done.
Ps Thanks for taking over the challenge
I am so glad I am in good company when it comes to latest trends and such. I love your Christmas collage card and way to go for making an envelope too. I wonder which one of us will make another one next. Take care!
I was also very late to the party with slimline cards! Yours is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you layered the ornament and snowflake for the O. Fabulous challenge for us this week!
I love the vintage collage look to your card, Elizabeth. That ornament is beautiful and takes center stage in the die cut. FYI: I started making slimline cards long before it was a trend (like over 10 years ago) but mine are a different size. I bought Monarch envelopes which are 3 7/8 by 7 1/2 and much cheaper that other sizes. I cut my paper 7" by 7" and fold in half. Or you could cut it 7 by 7 1/4 but square is easier to remember where to score. lol You can just use your paper trimmer to cut layers.
What a stunning card Elizabeth. So so beautiful.
Gorgeous Noel mini slimline card, Elizabeth!
