Just Us Girls #847 -- CASE A DT Week

Join us! It is CASE A DT week at Just Us Girls.  Ina is challenging us to choose one of the DT members' cards and CASE (Copy and Share Everything).   CASE a Design Team [DT] member means you may CASE any DT member's card in the JUGS post. [CASE = copy & share everything].  In a nutshell, use what inspires you from the card you choose, and create your own. The Team has created a wide selection; anything goes for their creations.

If you need help learning how to CASE a card, please check out Ardyth's post on her LIMES method.  CASEing others' work is a powerful learning tool that helps you solidify your own style.

I used a new floral set from Spellbinders... so fun and fresh.  I made a dozen of these cards for donation, using scraps only. I did not make any extra flowers; the layout above shows one die-cut from each die in the set. Of course, you could make extra flowers, but given that I always make duplicates, I tend to opt for the easiest layout. The background is the dimpled Spellbinders EF... a perfect match, I think.

The acrylic button in the center of the yellow flower is made from pony beads.  I have a whole jar of these buttons for numerous card uses. To make: bake pony beads vertically on parchment paper for 30 minutes @ 285°. Pony beads melt into perfect little domes. There are many YouTube videos on the process. You can pick up a big bag of pony beads for under $5.

I added a second card. I make so many for donation; other cardmakers have asked me for some of my tricks. The above card is made from wallpaper. I get samples, cut them into A2 panels, add a sentiment and gems... and call it a day. Wallpaper is gorgeous these days, has sufficient weight, and feels great.

Also, check out the design team.  These ladies work hard to inspire you each week.  Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

Enjoy!  I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Elizabeth

Such a pretty bouquet of fresh, colourful whimsical blooms that are sure to catch the eye of our participants.
Wall paper for card backgrounds? Brilliant! Adding to my must try list.
