Join us! It is WORD week at Just Us Girls. Ina is challenging us to draw inspiration from the phrase SPOTLIGHT TECHNIQUE in our card creations this week. If you are unsure what the spotlight technique is, a couple of videos are listed below that may help.
Cardmaking 201 (2025)
Inspiring Creativity (2025)
The spotlight technique highlights a single area of a design, typically in color. I used Pinkfresh's Dreamer's Forest. The image was stamped and colored with stencils. On the spotlight card above, I masked off a circular area and only colored the circle. To finish, I added a layered, vellum-backed sentiment and several gems.
The card below is fully colored. I made five for donation.
Check out our fabulous guest designer for April, Rosemary Dennis. Please welcome her and check out her fabulous work over at Hey There...rosigirl!
Also, check out the design team. These ladies work hard to inspire you each week. Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.
Enjoy! I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Fabulous! Love this end result of your spotlight technique
Beautiful colors and a great example of the technique!
I love this! The colors are fabulous and a perfect spotlight card! Great choice of image.
What a wonderfully different image to use for the technique, Elizabeth. It tells our followers you don't need to use flowers if that's not their thing.
Wonderful showcase of the spotlight technique; your colouring is 'spot on'!
