The Paper Players PP763 - A Color Challenge from Jan

Join us! It is COLOR week at The Paper Players.  Jan is challenging us to create a card that uses the Stampin' Up colors: Early Espresso (dark brown), Mossy Meadow (dark olive), Old Olive (light olive), Cajun Craze (dark orange).  I don't have any Stampin' Up inks so I translated the colors to Simon Says Stamp Olive, Catkin, and Burnt Orange.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa for the Espresso.

I felt these colors would work well with a fall stencil. The design was stamped in dark brown.  The stencil called for four leaf colors, so in addition to the challenge colors, I added a neutral gray (Simon Says Smoke). I trimmed the stenciled panel and adhered to a kraft cardbase. The layered sentiment is in dark brown. The final touch was sever clear sequins. I made four copies of the card.

Check out our fabulous design team.  These ladies work hard to inspire you each week.  Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

Here's a quick recap of our challenge rules:

1.  Create a new paper project
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us and provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge submission.
3.  Please link your card to no more than four challenges in total.

Enjoy!  I am looking forward to your inspired creations in the gallery.

Elizabeth

A fall beauty for sure, Elizabeth! I like the color variation you achieved with the stencil--even on leaves of the same color, it gives a lovely depth to the images. So pretty!

Beautiful, Elizabeth! I LOVE this stencil. It shows off the challenge colors so well. The shading you achieved adds depth and dimension. The gray was a lovely neutral choice. Have a wonderful week!
