Just Us Girls #778 -- DIE Week

Join us! It is
DIE week at Just Us Girls.  Ina is challenging us to use LAYERING dies this week in our card creations.

I used an older Honey Bee layering die set to create this dogwood stem.  The bits are small and I took a few shortcuts in the stem's creation. The stem is die cut from scrap kraft cardstock.  Rather than die cut the leaves, they are copic colored.  The flowers are die cut from white cardstock and the edges dusted with a pale pink dye ink, and the flower centers colored yellow green.  The stem was mounted on an embossed A2, DSP panel with a bold, layered sentiment, and a few gems.

I made three additional cards for donation to Friends After Diagnosis, an organization supporting cancer patients.  In addition to their many patient programs, therapy and service, staff members often send messages of support to local patients.

Check out our fabulous guest designer for June, Joanne James. Joanne is an amazing cardmaker and one of my wonderful design teammates at The Paper Players. Please welcome her and check out her fabulous work over at the Crafty Owl

Also check out the design team.  These ladies work hard to inspire you each week.  Drop by their blogs and leave them a little love.

What a great idea to color the leaves, Elizabeth. I always did find them fiddly. Your dogwood really shines with that bold background.

Your dogwood stem is beautiful! That background is a great choice to show those blossoms off. Great sentiment, too.
