ABC Christmas Challenge - A & B are for? and Double D Challenge Sparkle and/or Shine

I combined the themes featured at ABC Christmas Challenge and the Double D Challenge into one card. ABC is looking B for berries, and Double D for sparkle. I made a holiday card with a silver glitter background and layered berries.

Enjoy

ABC Christmas Challenge - Y & Z are for?

This week at the ABC Christmas Challenge, we are working with the final letters in the alphabet.. Y for yummy and Z for zigzag.  As I have mentioned, in this final week before Christmas, carding making is all about using new and loved stamps and dies that I didn't have a chance to use during the hectic months of Christmas creation.  I managed to make 350 unique cards this year for our card ministry... and like every New Year, I hope to accomplish more in 2022.

Thanks to inspiration from the DT, my card features a drum with a zigzag pattern.  I am sure I have had this die at least 10 years and never used it.  The die is from Memory Box, Fancy Drum.  I die cut,  assembled the pieces, and mounted atop an A2 card base stamped randomly with the sentiment from Avery Elle Nutcrackers.

Happy Holidays.

ABC Christmas Challenge - W and X are for?

This week at the ABC Christmas Challenge, we are creating Christmas cards with W (for whimsy) and X (for duplicates).  I think my card has a bit of whimsy... but definitely duplicates in the repeat of the hollies.  I used Pretty Pink Posh's holly layering stencils, distressing the holly in Twisted Citron and Festive Berries.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine (to achieve a dense blackness), and is from Essentials by Ellen Holly Jolly.

Enjoy.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge TTTC136 – Featured Designer LeAnne & ABC Christmas Challenge U and V are for?

This week at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, the grid is starting to move toward Christmas.  I selected the middle row for my card: BOW, RED, DIE.  I combined the elements of the row with the theme this month at the ABC Christmas Challenge -- UNDER THE TREE.  What is under the tree? Presents!

I have been trying to get into the slimline rage, and make more slimline and mini slimline cards.  Today is one of my attempts.  My card measures 3.5" x 8.5" (and it does fit into a business #10 envelope!).  My presents are simple squares and rectangles cut from scrap red paper, and foam mounted on the card base.  Some of the presents are tied with a red bow.  Just a $1 spool from the Dollar store.  Other presents are topped with a rhinestone.  The die cut sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Enjoy!

ABC Christmas Challenge - S & T are for?

This week at ABC Christmas, we are creating cards featuring S for Stencil (or T for two).  I wanted to play with the above old Dylan Thomas sentiment from Penny Black, and made two cards with it (also Jingle Belles).  For this card, I stamped the sentiment on acetate in Black StazOn.   The acetate is trimmed to a 2" wide strip, long enough to wrap around the A2 card base. On a Memory Box aqua panel, the Memory Box Winter Flurry Frame is stenciled in Hero Arts Arctic White and then spritzed with silver perfect pearls. The panel is adhered to the card base atop a strip of aqua glitter paper. The acetate cover is wrapped around the panel and attached with scortape.

Enjoy.

Christmas Card Throwdown August Sketch Challenge & ABC Christmas Challenge: P, Q and R

This week at Christmas Card Throwdown, we are working with a SKETCH of three circular items.  This month at ABC Christmas Challenge, we are working with P (plump), Q (Quality Street chocolates) and R (ribbon).   For my card, I used a 2015 die from Poppystamps called Ornament Trio.  I die cut the image from an A2 panel and lined the back of the panel with Scortape.  The ornament strings were die cut from gold Stardream.  The ornaments were filled with Quality Street-colored glitter: gold, red and green (so wished I had purple glitter!).  The white embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamped Tabbed Holiday Messages.  A May Arts bow (ribbon) was tied around the top of the panel, and it was mounted on the card base.

If still alive, my father would tell you that Quality Street chocolates are one of the best things about Christmas!  He loved them!

Enjoy,

ABC Christmas Challenge - N and O are for ?

This week at the ABC Christmas Challenge, our letters are N (North Pole) and O (off to one side).  I focused on the North Pole.  I used two My Favorite Things sets: Cool Day (for the North "pole") and Merry Everything for the images and sentiment.  To achieve the effects, all images required masking. The background is distressed and all the images Copic-colored, the sentiment is white embossed.  I used an edge-to-edge shaker technique demonstrated by Nina Marie recently on the Simon Says blog. Super easy technique.  I think I could be addicted to this method.  The card is fairly flat, fun, and can be mailed using one stamp.  I filled the shaker with a sequin mix from Lucy's Little Things.

Enjoy.

ABC Christmas Challenge - L & M are for?

This month at ABC Christmas Challenge, I chose to work with the letter 'M' for MISTLETOE.  I used the outline from Poppystamps Berry Branch as the primary focal point, filling the open leaves with crystal Stickles and the berries with red Mirracard (shockingly bright in this photo!); mounted on scrap patterned papers. The stamped sentiment is from CASual Fridays' Merry KISSmas set.

Enjoy.
